Eligibility for the interview waiver program?

To qualify for an interview waiver appointment, each visa applicant must independently meet the eligibility criteria; it may vary depending on the visa category, nationality, travel history, and previous visa validity.

Applicants below 14 years or above 79 years.
Applicants of B-1, B-2, and B-1/B-2 visas whose visas are still currently valid or expired within the past 12 months.
The applicant was at least 18 years old at the time of the previous visa issuance.
The applicant’s visa was not refused previously
The purpose of travel should remain the same, for example, visiting, tourism, or business.
All 10 fingerprints should be taken when the last visa was issued
Visa renewal in the same category (B-1/B-2 & H-1B, F1).

You must select an interview waiver submission appointment 15 days before visa expiry, or else you need to schedule a biometric appointment, and an in-person interview is a must.

Applicants may use any of our drop-off locations to submit their interview waiver applications.

What is the Visa fee?

The applicants can submit their interview waiver applications free of cost at any of the Visa Application Centers where the embassy or consulate is located.

If you wish to submit at any other locations, a nominal fee of ₹ 1200/- (inclusive of taxes) per passport will be charged at the time of submission.
