CANADA PR VISA

How to Get Permanent Residence in Canada?

A Canada PR visa (Permanent Resident)  grant allows individuals to live, work, and study anywhere in Canada. Individuals who hold Permanent residents status receive many benefits from the government, which are similar to the same benefits as Canadian citizens, including access to healthcare and social services.

Once Permanent residents fulfill the required of residency conditions, PR holders may apply for Canadian citizenship

Immigration Pathways to Canada:

  1.  Express Entry System:

The Express Entry System is one of Canada’s primary pathways for skilled professionals to obtain permanent residency.  It is a points-based system that evaluates applicants who apply for Canada PR visa, based on certain factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and other criteria.

Every eligible candidate who submits an Express Entry profile receives a CRS score out of 1,200 points.

Candidates who meet the Canadian government’s eligibility requirements can apply for a PR visa through the Express Entry pool.

This system includes three main programs:

  •         Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
  •         Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
  •         Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

  1.     Provincial Nominee Program (PNP):

PNPs allow Canadian provinces and territories to nominate individuals who apply for PR based on local labor market needs and who wish to immigrate and settle in a specific province or territory in Canada.

Applicants can apply through two main pathways:

  •         Base PNP Streams: Applicants can apply directly to a province or territory in Canada. If the application gets nominated, applicants can then apply for a Canada PR visa through (IRCC) Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
  •         Enhanced PNP Streams: Candidates who receive a nomination from any one of these streams will be awarded an extra 600 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), which will extremely increase their chances of receiving an Invitation from the province to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence visa in the next Express Entry draw.

  1. Other Pathways:

  • Quebec Immigration program: Quebec has its selection pathway. The immigration pathway of the Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP), is designed for individuals who wish to live and work in Quebec. Applicants are evaluated based on a points-based system that considers certain eligibility factors such as education, work experience, language ability (especially in French), and other criteria specific to Quebec.

If candidates receive a Certificate de selection du Québec (CSQ) from the Quebec government, then                 applicants can use it to apply for permanent residence through the federal government

  • Atlantic Immigration Program: This program is for skilled workers and international graduates in Atlantic provinces. Candidates must have a valid job offer from a designated employer in one of the Atlantic provinces in Canada. Once the candidates receive a job offer and meet the other eligibility requirements, candidates can apply for permanent residency.
  • Start-Up Visa Program: This Program offers a pathway for innovative entrepreneurs to obtain permanent residency in Canada by establishing a business with innovative business ideas.
  1. Family Sponsorship
