About AUSTRALIA

Tasmanian highlands and table lands along with the south eastern region form the coldest areas of Australia.

Multicultural Society

 

Australian Commonwealth is largely of British (36.1%) & Irish (10.1%) origins and Australia being a British colony has large British footmarks engraved in its culture. A large part is native Australian (34%) and around 12% are Asian Australians. Australian authors are recognized for two Booker Prizes, a Noble Laureate in literature in Patrick White and many artists, dramatists, poets of International repute. Australia`s tradition of theatres, Amateur troupes, and professional companies is widely recognized.

Australia`s environment has great encouragement for musicians and has folk, chart buster pop and music unique to its aboriginal people.

Tradition of painting dates back to more than 40000 years and can still be found in Major Museums and Galleries. Contemporary art has a wide representation in the society.

Australia is traditionally a very sportive nation and has International representation in Cricket, Netball, Hockey, Rugby etc. Each of these teams have won the highest accolades in this sports at least twice with its men’s and women`s teams.
