Intakes

Canadian Universities generally have 4 intakes:

Spring: January/February

Fall: August/September

Summer: April/May

Winter: December

The highest number of intakes is in fall intake with all courses offered followed by spring intake whereas winter and summer intakes are offered by very few universities with a limited number of programs.

English Requirements

  • The medium of instruction in all the US universities is English and all non-native English speakers are supposed to establish their proficiency in English. Hence TOEFL & IELTS are widely accepted. TOEFL is accepted by all the Universities and IELTS is also considered by more than 2500 institutions in the US.Ideal scores for IELTS.

Ideal scores are as mentioned below:

  • For Post Graduate >6.5
  • Some institutions may give a waiver for these exams with some substitute courses or interviews.

Eligibility for Admissions:

Bachelors: 10+2 or equivalent.

Masters: 16 years education (10+2+4), some institutions may consider 15 years with WES Evaluation.

Students with 15 years of education may also be accepted into Bridging Programs.

Students with strong academic backgrounds are preferred.

Students with good SAT, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, IELTS scores would be preferred.

Letters of Recommendation from the last studied institution`s professors.

Statement of Purpose/Personal Mission Statement, Essays & Resumes depicting their strong aptitude for higher education.

Certificates of appreciation in various co-curricular activities and sports (If any).

Strong financial background & proper source of funds. High test scores with excellent academics can fetch good scholarships.
